From American living rooms to the ballot box, hate is still large in the U.S. of A. I’m not saying Canada and other developed nations don’t have problems with hate, but this video is pretty telling of the strong divides that still exist in the U.S.. It’s sad that some people are so ignorant.

This has actually been asked of him; whether he thinks that he can relate to working class people even though he looks like a model for the cover of GQ magazine. The best part about this whole thing? His response; it’s hilarious. Take a look.

Al Gore has recently released a new climate change slide show presentation. After giving his original presentation over 2000 times, he decided to create a newer, and more trimmed-down version. First given at the TED Talks, the presentation focuses more on what needs to be done to stop global warming. The majority of scientists agree [...]

A twinkle in my eye was present as I read a recent Treehugger article mentioning Obama’s offer to have Al Gore join his political team to help deal with the environment. It’s amazing to see people coming together, especially in a continent where individualism, division, and competition rule. What just flashed through your mind–terrorists, nuclear bombs, illegal immigrants? Since this is what the mainstream media pushes as the threats to the American people, I don’t blame you if it was–really. However, while most people are fixated on things that are hyped up more than their actual threat warrants, the real threats to the [...]

Today, in class, my professor made reference to a children’s book called The Golden Compass, which is part of a trilogy by Philip Pullman. There was mention of controversy over the claim that this book has atheist intentions written into it. This prompted me to do a bit of Google searching where I found a [...]

I thought this was a feeling only felt by Americans, but today I am disappointed in my country–or perhaps more accurate, the government running it right now. Stephen Harper and the Conservative party are, well, idiots who are serving the interests of the oil companies and others profiting from a lack of action on climate [...]

Human Rights Watch released a report today stating that the Burmese government is buying and selling child soldiers to fight in its army. “Military recruiters are literally buying and selling children to fill the ranks of the Burmese armed forces,” says Jo Becker, theĀ children’s rights advocate for Human Rights Watch (Audio Clip). This comes at [...]
