This past Monday, Rita and I took a trip up to Squamish where we did some hiking, biking, and camping. We hiked up one of the popular mountains called “The Chief” on our first day and decided to document it through video. Take a look below for the video:

I’m SO glad you’re both realizing that getting back to the basics is how you save the money on food. You know that with my three, two being very big growing teens, that food is one of my biggest expenses. Its so easy to pick up the simple quick things, especially when working, and caring for a house and so forth, but over all, when we all dive into the kitchen together, to cook supper, or bake, not only are we saving money all together, but we’re also getting some extra special family time together as well. Markets are great for fresh food stuffs, specially if you go a little closer to closing time, when they’re trying to get rid of as much as possible. Fruits and veggies go for almost nothing then! If you can find one in your area… its perfect for a weeks worth of freshness! ( And you also don’t get the weeks long waiting periods of some food actually reaching the grocery stores) Same with eggs, if you can get a flat of them at a market, you’re going to have those last 3 weeks longer ( and fresher) then the ones in the grocery store that take close to 3 months to GET there…
Good luck…:-)
Good points Brenda, especially the quality time one! Dinner becomes less of a chore when it becomes a project to work on together
