Weddings and Debt

I was just reading an article that said people in S. America and Africa are taking out loans and going into debt so they can have Western-style weddings. Then I thought, “that’s strange.” Then I thought, “well, actually, almost everyone here goes into debt for their wedding.” Then I thought, “money is the #1 reason couples fight (and then divorce).” Then I thought, “Wow; we’re stupid.”

    Weddings are suppose to be a celebration… not a situation. Seems extremely immature to “go into more debt” just to celebrate you love. Call me crazy.
