So there is a lot of talk going around about the heated feud yesterday on The View. I don’t generally watch the show, but Rita sent me a YouTube clip of yesterday’s verbal attacks. The debate starts off discussing reasons why Bush should be impeached but quickly deteriorates into personal attacks. Although the issue itself is poorly debated, I love this segment because it shows that people are getting fed up with the way the United States is being run. Joy Behar also brought up the fact that the average person from the US would rather watch Dancing With the Stars than pay attention to what really matters in the world.
In a society where politics has to be whitewashed into a form of entertainment in order for people to pay attention to it, it is encouraging to see a debate like this erupt. Again, it shows that people are very emotional when it comes to politics and bringing those emotions to the surface is exactly how we deal with problems. Everyone is political whether they believe it or not; everyone has views and opinions and it is the goal of the media and ruling party to suppress those emotions and encourage everyone to go with the flow (recall George Bush telling everyone to go back to their ordinary lives and hit the shopping malls as he stood on the rubble of the trade towers after 9/11–let us take care of it, we know what is best for you). Debates like this one on The View encourage people not to go with the flow and instead, express their feelings–this is a great thing and I hope to see more of it. So, ABC and Rosie herself announced today that she will no longer be appearing on The View(she originally had 3 weeks left until her contract ends). This means no more heated debates/arguments between Rosie and ‘Elizabitch’… boooooo

I agree with Joy, America should be mad as hell with this administation. They need to be tried for their crimes against the Constitution and was crimes. This President talk a lot about personal responabilty. It’s time for him to accept his. Under his leadership hundreds of thousands of people are DEAD! I don’t know how he can look at himself in the mirror.
