By now, most of you know that Pay Per Post is a blog marketing company that acts as a middleperson between advertisers and bloggers. The idea is that advertisers create opportunities (or “opps”) where bloggers are given the chance to write about a product on their blog and get paid for doing so. It is a great concept and has been very profitable for many bloggers.
Recently, advertisers and bloggers have been asking for a way to communicate with each other directly without having PPP in the middle. As usual, Pay Per Post listened to its users and created PPP Direct, fulfilling their request. As the first part of what PPP calls Project Birdo, the Direct feature allows bloggers to set a minimum price that advertisers can offer them for a post. Furthermore, once the offer is made, the two parties can negotiate the terms of the post, such as what tone it will have, how many words it will contain, and other such details.
Perhaps the best part of this new feature is the low service fee attached. Some online middleperson marketing companies like ReviewMe have fees of 50-100%, which means that if you want a minimum price of $200 for a post, $100 of that will go to the marketing company and $100 will go to you, the blogger. With PPP, there is only a 10% fee, nearly 5% of which goes towards paying for their own costs.
This is a great new development that allows bloggers to interact directly with the advertiser and allows for more flexibility in the terms of the post–something that both the advertiser and blogger will benefit from. Way to go Pay Per Post!
