Flying to El Salvador

hpim0731.jpgAs you read this post, I am probably flying somewhere over the Southern US, soon to land in the bellybutton of the Americas, El Salvador. I have used the Post Timestamp feature in WordPress to pre-schedule when my posts will be released. This means that although I’m in another country away from an internet connection, my blog will still release posts every once in a while so the site isn’t totally dead while I’m gone.

We left Pearson Airport in Toronto around 9:20am and should be in San Salvador (the capital cit) by 12:30pm local time. The day started with a 4:30am departure by Robert Q to Toronto so that we could wait the glorious three hours before boarding–gotta love flying. El Salvador is in the GMT -6 timezone and I left from a GMT -5 timezone (which is really -4 right now because of Daylight Savings). So, in the end there is a 2 hour difference and when I get to El Salvador it will feel like 2:30pm instead of 12:30.

Once we hit the ground we’ll have to collect our bags and then head over to a counter to purchase a $10 tourist card that lets us enter the country. Once the airport is done and overwith, lunch is on the agenda, followed by a welcome and greeting session with our friends in El Salvador. This day will be more of a briefing session.
