Lube Records Slip into Wrong Hands

astroglide.jpgWe hear a lot these days about company data breaches; this time, the information is getting a bit personal. Astroglide, the sexual lubricant manufacturer, is reported to have suffered a security breach which has opened up the records of 250K+ people–including names, mailing addresses, and the specific variety of lube they purchased. This data was even accessible via Google Search. The records date back to 2003, some of which are still available in Google’s cache.

The bug was found when a who customer ordered a free sample of lubricant came across his transaction record while looking up his name on Google. What’s the moral of this story? Do Google searches of all your friends and see what little secrets you can find out about them :p. Of course I’m just joking, and it seems like Google and Astroglide are slowly cleaning up the mess. However, this is just another reason to be a little more careful about what you do on the internet, you never know what’s going to slip into the open.
