Cranium

craniumLast night went from a bar night to a game night and Mitchell and Danielle came over to Rita’s and we all played Cranium. When the plans for going out fell through, I hit the road and sped to Wal-Mart to buy Cranium–a game that Rita and I have been wanting to play. As a side note, if you buy the game, Wal-Mart is the cheapest that I’ve seen at $24.95. We saw the same edition of the game going for $35-45 in other stores; don’t be tricked!!

The game itself is a 3-time “Game of the Year” winner and is made by a Canadian. It’s kind of like Pictionary, Charades, and Trivial Pursuit mixed in one, plus more. You divide yourself into teams (in our case, guys vs. girls) and work together to reach Planet Cranium. The game is much more than just trivia. For example, you may have to sketch your answer with your eyes closed while your partner tries to guess it, mold your answer out of clay, spell a word backwards, or whistle/hum a tune. It’s very interactive, easy to play, and very amusing!

From Mitchell’s impersonation of Elvis Presley to Rita and Danielle’s multiple word-scrambling problems, we all had a good time. It was a very close game near the end, but the guys pulled through and came out as the champs. I think a rematch is in order some time soon. Overall, the game is great and it was nice to get together with good friends and just relax.

Hey Pat, AGREED- that was definitely an awesome night last night. I really enjoyed myself and gave all of us time to catch up. I definitely would suggest this game to anyone/everyone. I’m totally playing it Christmas day with my family. I guess i need the practice since rita and i lost. But it was so close, so dont let it go to your head Mr. But ya rematch very soon.
    Bye for now.
